Whether you require manual physiotherapy to address musculoskeletal issues, pelvic floor physiotherapy for women's health concerns, dry needling (acupuncture) for pain management, or an exercise program prescription to enhance your overall fitness, we are here to support you on your journey to healing and recovery.

Physiotherapy

When you embark on your healing journey, the first step in the process is a thorough assessment. Our team of highly skilled and experienced physiotherapists utilizes advanced techniques and specialized tools to evaluate each patient's condition. Through a combination of detailed physical examinations, medical histories, and diagnostic tests, we strive to understand the underlying causes of injuries and conditions.

Following the assessment, Ecclestone Physiotherapy develops tailored treatment plans to address the specific needs of each individual. These plans are designed to not only alleviate pain and discomfort but also target the root causes of the problems. Our dedicated team focuses on restoring functionality, improving mobility, and enhancing overall quality of life.

Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy

Pelvic floor physiotherapy focuses on treatment involving both the internal and external pelvic muscles and joints. We treat women with pelvic health symptoms of all ages. The pelvic floor is a muscle group most of us do not have a great connection with. When the pelvic system is not functioning optimally, it can lead to issues such as pelvic pain, leakage, prolapse, sexual dysfunction and more. Ecclestone Physiotherapy is here to help you connect with your pelvic floor and eliminate symptoms that can be very socially debilitating.

The treatments involved in pelvic health service will be dependent upon the results of your initial assessment. Your injury or condition will be evaluated during a physical examination, and one of our physiotherapists will form a treatment plan that will address your specific needs. This will typically include a combination of manual therapy, a home exercise program (stretching, strengthening), activity/lifestyle modification, toileting habit changes and more.

If you have any of the below symptoms, you are likely a candidate for pelvic floor physiotherapy!

  • Urinary or fecal incontinence (i.e a leak with a cough/sneeze)
  • Severe sense of urgency to void with or without associated leakage
  • Constipation
  • Feelings of pressure in the vagina
  • Increased frequency of urination
  • Incomplete emptying
  • Tailbone pain
  • Hemorrhoids
  • Vaginal pain
  • Pain with pelvic exams or inserting a tampon
  • Hip or low back pain
  • Diastasis recti abdominis
  • Pain with intercourse or toileting

Dry Needling (Acupuncture)

Dry needling is a type of acupuncture where a needle is inserted into a trigger point of a muscle, causing it to twitch or contract, which elicits a therapeutic effect. Trigger points are tender areas in muscles that can cause pain and altered muscle function. Dry needling is an effective technique to reduce muscle tension, muscle pain and restore muscle function.

Manual Therapy

At Ecclestone Physiotherapy, we value one-on-one time between the client and physiotherapist. We prioritize hands-on treatment techniques over the use of machines to give you the best value for your appointment and help you recover faster. Manual therapy involves skilled hands-on techniques of joints or soft tissues with the goal of improving the range of motion, optimizing function and/or reducing pain.

Exercise Programming

Physiotherapists have an in-depth understanding of the human body and mechanics. Because of this, we understand that exercise is an integral part of a successful physiotherapy program. As such, following an individualized assessment, specific exercises will be prescribed to you. The goal of home exercises can be to improve range of motion, assist with pain relief, restore balance, strengthen muscles that are contributing to symptoms, or increase endurance or athletic capacity.

At Ecclestone Physiotherapy, we believe we are not doing our job if you do not play a part in your own rehab journey. We're here to guide and support you every step of the way!
